Our Kickstarter campaign is chugging along, so this seems like a good time to introduce to the brilliant writers that will be gracing our blood-soaked pages. Please say hello to our featured authors for Eat the Rich!
Diviner of the dark arts T.L. Bodine is the author of Neverest and River of Souls, among many other tales of horror. She’s interested in uncanny, fantastic things, and the way real people with real problems interact with them. Her Wattpad-exclusive gothic, The Hound, is in development for the big screen.
When not writing, she can usually be found overthinking horror movies, playing story-heavy video games, or experimenting in the kitchen. She lives in New Mexico with her husband and two small dogs.
Find more of Tiana’s writing on Amazon, or wherever you buy books. Or, follow her on Patreon for monthly deep-dives into horror topics, writing advice, and a behind-the-scenes look at whatever she’s cooking up next.
We knew we wanted some creature-feature horror in this one, and, if you’ve read Melon Head Mayhem, then you know Alex is the guy for that.
Alex Ebenstein is a lifelong Michigander, where he lives with his wife, son, and dog. His daytime mapmaking career supports his nighttime addiction of writing horror and other speculative fiction. His debut horror novella, Curse Corvus, was released in April 2023, and his follow-up novella, Melon Head Mayhem, was released by Shortwave Publishing in July 2023. He is also the editor of the SPLIT SCREAM series, published by Tenebrous Press. Connect with him on social media @AlexEbenstein and keep up with writing news at AlexEbenstein.com.
R.T.’s “The Building Across the Street,” in Interzone 294, is on the Nebula reading list, and he’s got some phenomenal stories in other issues, and Clarkesworld, too!
R.T. Ester works professionally as a visual designer. When he isn’t doing that, he’s raising two young kids with his wife and drawing any inspiration he can from the Texas heat. You can find more about his writing at RTWrites.com.
Your favorite goop lord and mine, Lor Gislason is a writer and editor from Vancouver Island, Canada, known for their love of goopy horror. They’ve been featured in several anthologies and magazines, including Ghoulish Tales, Escalators to Hell, [lock-on] and more. They also have a cat named Pierogi Platter.
Can you make an anthology about anti-capitalism and not include Cynthia Gómez? We sure as hell weren’t going to be the ones to find out.
Cynthia Gómez writes horror and other types of speculative fiction, set primarily in Oakland, where she makes her home. She has a particular love for themes of revenge, retribution, and resistance to oppression, and she loves to write dark and frightening things while cuddling with her shadow, a.k.a. her adorable little dog. Her work has appeared in Fantasy Magazine, Strange Horizons, Tree and Stone, and numerous anthologies. The Nightmare Box and Other Stories, her first collection, will be out from Cursed Morsels Press in Summer 2024. You can find more of her work at CynthiaSaysBoo.WordPress.com.
Wayne is the brilliantly funny, genre-crashing writer behind The Chimera Code and The Difficult Lives of Maria Makiling.
Wayne Santos has been an ad copywriter, a TV scriptwriter, a magazine contributor, an editor, and a freelance writer for too many things on the Internet to count. He grew up in Alberta, lived in Singapore, and settled down in Ontario with his wife and an ongoing rotation of two household cats. He is a multi-disciplinary geek with a double major in science fiction and fantasy, specializations in novels, comics, anime, TV and film, and a minor in video games. Under no circumstances should he be approached to discuss 80s pop culture unless you are fully aware of the toll this will expend on your remaining lifespan.
If you want to see what they can do with a prompt of “eating the rich” — and you definitely do — be sure to back our Kickstarter so we can make that fantasy a reality!
